KRC Genk drew 1-1 against Union SG. This makes it very difficult for the Limburgers to still grab the title.
Wouter Vrancken made some changes to his starting team, compared to last weekend’s weak match at Union SG. Then the Limburgers could only bring a very weak first half to the pitch.
Bilal El Khannouss was one of the victims of that intervention by the Genk trainer. “Bilal was in a lesser period, but that is not a shame at all for such a young player”, Wouter Vrancken is very clear in Het Nieuwsblad.
According to Vrancken, a lot has come to El Khannouss both on and off the field. As a substitute it is sometimes a bit easier for a young player. “I thought we started very strong, lost a bit of energy after twenty minutes, but then played a strong second half again against a Union that folded back.”
However, the draw is bad news for Genk. “Unfortunately we got stuck on a draw, which made our chances of the title very small. We already need a very special scenario to make it.”
