Virgin Mojito (non-alcoholic Mojito) |

When the sun is shining and temperatures are rising, there’s nothing more refreshing than a cold drink. The mojito is probably one of the most popular summer cocktails. Drinks containing alcohol naturally do not belong to the consumption of Muslims. The virgin mojito then offers the perfect solution for a refreshing drink without alcohol.

This non-alcoholic take on the classic mojito has all the flavors you know and love, but without the alcohol. It has the distinctive taste of lime and mint, making it a refreshing and invigorating mocktail. This drink is not only ideal for Muslims who do not drink alcohol, but also for anyone looking for non-alcoholic party recipes, for example.

Virgin Mojito (non-alcoholic Mojito)

Ingredients for one glass:

  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 lime, sliced or wedged
  • 150 ml lemon-lime soda
  • 50ml sparkling water
  • Ice cubes or crushed ice

Extra for garnish:

  • Sprig of mint
  • Slice of lime

Preparation method:

Take the mint leaves and bruise or pound them lightly with a pestle or muddler. This will release the aromas and flavors of the mint. Cut the lime into slices or wedges and add to the mint leaves. Also lightly crush the limes to release the juices.

Put ice cubes or crushed ice in the cocktail shaker or a tall glass and then add the mint and lime. Pour the lemon-lime soda and sparkling water into the shaker or glass and stir well with a spoon.

Add extra ice cubes to keep the mocktail nice and cold. Garnish the virgin mojito with a wedge of lime and a sprig of mint. Serve the non-alcoholic mojito immediately and enjoy this delicious refreshing cocktail!

  • Try a different soda, such as ginger ale or tonic, instead of the usual lemon-lime soda.
  • Add some extra sweetness, such as mint syrup, lemon syrup, honey or cane sugar, if you like a sweeter cocktail.
  • Squeeze extra lime juice into the virgin mojito to intensify the lime flavor.
