UltimAir Hijs Hokij says goodbye to success coach Eimers

UltimAir Hijs Hokij and coach Chris Eimers are no longer together after eight successful seasons. Although the decision to part ways was difficult, the time has come for a new impulse within the club. Hijs Hokij is therefore looking for a new coach who can take the club further and build on Eimers’ success.

Chris Eimers has been the face of Hijs Hokij since 2015 and has taken the club to great heights. Under his leadership, the club managed to profile itself as a stable top club that competes for the prizes year in, year out. With nine trophies won and bringing the club back to the top of Dutch ice hockey, Eimers is without a doubt the best coach in the history of Hijs Hokij.

Eimers won no less than 9 prizes with Hijs Hokij, which makes him the most successful coach in the history of the 90-year-old club.

New Age
“Chris has done a fantastic job for the club,” begins chairman Harry Vlaardingebroek. “Under his leadership, Hijs Hokij has developed into one of the most successful ice hockey clubs in the Netherlands. We are extremely grateful to him for this and will never forget his commitment and contribution”.

This decision may therefore come as a surprise to many. “After an extensive evaluation, we have decided that it is time for a new impulse. That is why we are looking for a new coach who can further develop our ambitions in the coming years and who can lead to new successes”, says Vlaardingerbroek.

It is not yet known who will be the new coach of Hijs Hokij. The club will use the coming period to find a suitable candidate that fits the ambitions and philosophy of the club.
