The municipality of Groningen and Rijkswaterstaat are organizing a walk-in meeting about the Gerrit Krol Bridge on Tuesday 30 May. The meeting will take place in Het Floreshuis. That reports Otv.
During the meeting, employees of Rijkswaterstaat and the municipality of Groningen will provide information about the state of affairs regarding the construction of the temporary bridge, and the situation of the new bridge will also be discussed. Local residents can ask questions, and an explanation is given of the existing plans.
This week it is exactly two years ago that the Gerrit Krol Bridge was hit by a ship. The bridge was severely damaged. Since then, the connection has been unusable for motorized traffic. Cyclists and pedestrians use two separate bridges. A ramp will be added to one of these bridges to make it more accessible. However, that process has been considerably delayed because the southern bank, on the side of the Korrewegwijk, is not strong enough to support the construction.
The walk-in meeting on May 30 starts at 4 p.m. and lasts until 8 p.m.
