Prime Minister Rutte said he was pleased that the United States is about to agree to train Ukrainian pilots for F-16s. “The details will be worked out in the coming weeks,” he wrote on Twitter.

“Ukraine can continue to count on the unwavering support of the Netherlands and its international partners,” said Rutte.

According to, among others, the French newspaper Le Monde, the Netherlands and Great Britain would also like to form a coalition to buy F-16s for Ukraine.

Border violation

Russia has already warned that it will shoot down F-16 fighter jets in Ukrainian airspace. Entrepreneur Mario Nawfal announced this via Twitter. He relies on a message from the Russian Ministry of Defense.

If F-16s enter Ukrainian airspace without permission, it will be seen as a border violation.

The Russians accuse the US of provoking a conflict and insist that the US is responsible for any incidents involving F-16 fighter jets.

Russia added that it is well able to detect and neutralize threats in the airspace.

Bachmoth

The Russian army said on Saturday it had completely captured the Ukrainian city of Bachmut. The attack was led by the Russian mercenary army Wagner Group.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that the liberation of the strategic city was the result of Wagner’s offensive actions. President Putin congratulated the troops.
