Roglic still suffers from a fall: ‘Happy to come up with classification men’

Before the start of the 14th stage in the Giro d’Italia, 43 riders have already had to give up. Also top favorite for the overall victory, Primoz Roglic, was not spared bad luck. The Slovenian crashed a few days ago and afterwards, in his usual way, nuanced the seriousness of the injuries. According to Koen Bouwman, his leader has some problems with that fall.

“It may not have looked very bad on TV, but Primoz really fell hard on his hip,” Bouwman said. Eurosport. “He is not in a lot of pain, but there is still some discomfort. He was just happy yesterday to come out on top together with the best GC riders. We will see day by day when we can launch the attack.”

Fortunately, Roglic does not have to wear the pink jersey (for the time being). “The fact that Roglic is not the leader mainly gives him more peace. He is faster at the hotel and can get a massage sooner. This is certainly not a disadvantage, but the pink is also just really nice to have,” says Koen Bouwman.
