RKC goalkeeper Etienne Vaessen is in the picture to replace the departing Joël Drommel this summer as second keeper. This is reported by the Eindhovens Dagblad.
Drommel is no longer satisfied with a role behind first goalkeeper Walter Benítez. Because Drommel may still be rented out instead of sold, after all Ruud van Nistelrooij is a big fan of the goalkeeper, the club should act towards a new second goalkeeper for next season.
Vaessen is therefore clearly in the picture to succeed Drommel. The first sounds about the goalkeeper are therefore that there is also interest from his side in moving to PSV. Incidentally, PSV is not the only interested club, because Feyenoord is also showing interest in Vaessen. The tall goalkeeper of the club from Waalwijk is having a great season and wishes to first focus on ending the season well with RKC before thinking about a transfer.
PSV still sees the potential first goalkeeper in 26-year-old Drommel. A rental is obvious, but a summer sale is also an option. Drommel was taken over from FC Twente two years ago for 3.5 million euros. He will remain in Eindhoven until the summer of 2026.
