A storm in a teacup. This is how we can best indicate the reports from De Telegraaf about complaining PSV employees to the management.
The newspaper seems to make the whole thing much bigger than it is because there are more consultations between players and the management. Moreover, anyone who can observe Ruud van Nistelrooij’s dealings with the group of players can only conclude that there is no question of unrest.
De Telegraaf reported on Sunday evening that there is a lot of dissatisfaction within the PSV player group about the performance of Ruud van Nistelrooij. In the week after the won cup final, a delegation of the decisive players would have already spoken with general manager Marcel Brands and technical director Earnest Stewart. Questions are raised about the way of communicating and the tactical choices made by Van Nistelrooij. The disturbed relationship with assistant trainers André Ooijer and Fred Rutten would also have a negative effect on the atmosphere for a long time.
The whole is contradicted by the club. According to club watcher Rik Elfrink, PSV denies reports that the group of players had complained to the management about Ruud van Nistelrooij.
In an article on the website of the Eindhovens Dagblad it is reported that the group of players, in a conversation with the management, has insisted on a longer stay for Fred Rutten and the departure of André Ooijer is regretted. Ooijer will retire after this season for personal reasons, while Rutten has not yet made a decision about his future.
A delegation of the player group talks more often with the club management. Earlier this year it was discussed that the technical staff was too large. Since then, the Spaniard Javier Rabanal is no longer on the bench during matches.
PSV denies that players have complained to the management about Ruud van Nistelrooij. So more.
