Willy van de Kerkhof believes nothing of the alleged unrest that should prevail at PSV. According to the club icon, the ‘Amsterdam’ newspaper sows The Telegraph unrest now that Ajax can take over second place from PSV in the last round of the Eredivisie.
Strategic attack on PSV
According to the morning newspaper, there would be friction between trainer Ruud van Nistelrooij and his staff members and the entire group of players would no longer have confidence in the coach. PSV denies the allegations and Van de Kerkhof also states in the The Willy & René Podcast by Broadcasting Brabant not take the news seriously. “It seems to me a strategic attack to play PSV apart in this phase.”
PSV can still lose second place to Ajax in the event of a defeat against AZ, if the team from Amsterdam manages to win at Twente. Van de Kerkhof therefore does not believe that the ‘determinative’ PSV players would have complained about Van Nistelrooij, who comes out with a cynical sneer. “I think it is a submitted piece by Sjaak Swart.”
Van de Kerkhof saw that PSV barely managed to save a point against sc Heerenveen on Sunday. “Everything went wrong. Fortunately it will be 3-3. But it certainly wouldn’t have become that without Xavi Simons. Van Nistelrooij already said it: too many top players are not there at the top moments.”
