Manchester United are considering offering Lisandro Martínez a much improved contract. The Argentinian defender was taken over from Ajax last summer and has been impressing at Old Trafford ever since. The defender is an undisputed basic player in Erik ten Hag’s team and has already become a crowd favorite.
The Argentina international has already played 45 games for the club this season Mancunians and is also very popular with fans. Martínez’s good performance has also not gone unnoticed by United’s club management, which is considering rewarding the left leg with a new contract. This is reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who says that no formal talks have yet been started between all parties.
Martínez is currently injured and will not be able to play again this season. The defender sustained the injury during the Europa League match against Sevilla. However, the Argentinian still has a chance to win the Matt Busby Player of the Year award, with United fans voting for what they believe is the best United player of the year.
