Justin Kluivert and Arnaut Danjuma are linked to PSV in ‘Knooppunt Eindhoven’ analysis

A solid analysis by AD journalist and analyst Maarten Wijffels about PSV’s upcoming transfer summer.

That is how we can safely call the story and the impact of the AD journalist. Wijffels notes that PSV can be a crossroads in their careers for many top football players, but also a kind of starting point. ‘Eindhoven hub as a restart of a career’, Wijffels begins his analysis. A number of notable names are reviewed in his analysis.

‘Jeffrey Bruma, Luuk de Jong and Marco van Ginkel. But also Davy Pröpper, Donyell Malen, Siem de Jong and Karim Rekik. And of course currently Xavi Simons, as the textbook example of how you as a club and player hope it works’, Wijffels notes. The journalist refers in particular to the fact that PSV can be a springboard or a renewed springboard for many players on their way to the European top.

Even now a list can be made of Dutch players at a crossroads in their career abroad. Take Horace Danjuma, coincidentally ex-PSV. Now 26 years old and a permanent bench seat at Tottenham Hotspur, having previously lost his starting place at Villarreal. Or Justin Kluivert, 24 years old and has been wandering through Europe for years. He is doing well at Valencia this season, but with that club in danger of relegation in La Liga’, Wijffels points to Patrick Kluivert’s son.

Wijffels also points to other players who have suffered a small scratch or have ‘fallen’ somewhat. Sepp van den Berg and Noa Lang. In the case of Lang, who was recently linked to PSV, there does not seem to be a so-called ‘fall’ yet, but Lang’s career at the ailing Club Brugge is not in an upward spiral. According to Wijffels, PSV would also have thought about Javairô Dilrosun in the past, who is now on the bench at Feyenoord. PSV would not have considered the attacker good enough for the top of the Eredivisie.

Wijffels’ thoughts are interesting, with Danjumu’s name being more realistic than Justin Kluivert’s.
