This also means that the first critics already have access to the film and therefore the reviews and scores are also starting to pour in. And they are not immediately positive. Several critics even give the film an unsatisfactory rating.
Harrison Ford (80) is not quite done with his most famous character. The fifth will come on June 28 Indiana Jonesmovie in 40 years. That will also be Ford’s last. During the premiere of the film at the Cannes Film Festival, the actor already received a standing ovation, but the reviews afterwards were less favorable.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
The new film shows us an Indiana Jones at rest. He seems to be spending his retirement in a city where he feels anything but at home and where he thinks back to his days as an archaeologist in the desert. When one day he is approached by someone who needs his help, he considers a return.
In addition to Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen also participate. Waller-Bridge plays Indiana’s goddaughter and is looking for answers to her questions. Mikkelsen then plays the villain again.
First reviews
The official release of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is not until the end of next month, but the film has already premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. That also means that the first reviews are in. They are not immediately positive.
On various sites you can read that “Harrison Ford deserved a better farewell” and that “it was necessary sparkles fog”. Those opinions also translate into the first score on Rotten Tomatoes. There, the film currently only gets a score of 43 percent after 14 reviews from film critics.
