Google Pixel 7a Does Well In Durability Test

Well-known YouTuber JerryRigEverything, who is known for his durability tests of smartphones, got his hands on the Google Pixel 7a. Of course he couldn’t resist testing this smartphone as well and it is striking that the Pixel 7a passes the stress test better than the more expensive Pixel 7 Pro.

People who buy a new smartphone usually handle it with care. Still, it’s a nice feeling to know if your smartphone can take a beating. This is where JerryRigEverything comes in. He tests the robustness of smartphones through a scratch test, a fire test and a bend test. In the video below we see how the Google Pixel 7a reacts to these tests.

Where the larger Google Pixel 7 Pro broke in half during the bend test, the cheaper Pixel 7a comes out better in the test. The smartphone hardly gives up. This is probably due to the more compact housing. Larger objects bend more easily than smaller objects. However, the back of the Pixel 7a is made of plastic, making it susceptible to scratches.

The smartphone features a 6.1-inch 90Hz OLED screen, an in-display fingerprint scanner, a Google Tensor G2 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage space, a 13MP selfie camera and a dual rear camera with a 64MP main lens and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The battery has a capacity of 4,385 mAh and can charge wired at 18W and wirelessly at 7.5W.
