Frustrated Veerman expresses grumpiness: “This is just a shit feeling, really shit”

PSV failed to secure second place in the Eredivisie on Sunday. Midfielder Joey Veerman let his frustration run free after the duel with sc Heerenveen (3-3).

PSV failed to further expand its lead at home after Ibrahim Sangaré’s opening goal. The team of coach Ruud van Nistelrooij then completely collapsed and fell behind 1-3. Due to opportunistic play, a point was still dragged out of the fire in the final phase. “We don’t make those chances and then we conceded easy goals ourselves,” said Veerman with the necessary chagrin in front of the ESPN camera. André Ramalho made a huge mistake with Milan van Ewijk’s 1-1, after which the defense did not look good with the other Frisian goals.

Veerman believes that people in the dressing room say ‘perhaps too little’ the truth to each other. “I just don’t know if you turn these kinds of matches around with that. We just have to go full throttle, but this draw really makes me feel like shit, really shit. If we look at the game realistically, they score three goals from their first three chances. Those first two weren’t even chances, they were counters from their own box. Furthermore, they only stood in their own half and they could not pass the ball to each other three times. In the end we conceded two goals and we were 1-2 behind at halftime”, said Veerman.
