Die Haghe wins with difficulty from the gate closer

For the penultimate home game, the number 2 in the ranking took on the last team Twice Six. That Haghe managed to win, but it was a lot more difficult than everyone expected.

Stronger

From the first second, Die Haghe managed to play long attacks that were not expressed in scores. Twice Six handled the shots more effectively and needed half as many goal attempts to stay in Die Haghe’s footsteps 3-3. That Haghe was stronger in the game and, after both teams had missed a penalty throw, finally managed to bring the difference to 6-3. They were waiting for a bigger lead, but the visitors from Maartensdijk remained effective (especially one gentleman who found the basket 5 times before the break) and came back to 7-6. Die Haghe was able to play long attacks thanks to a high rebound percentage, where Twice Six often had to make do with shorter attacks. Both teams alternated scoring until the halftime score was 10-8.

Sharpness

At the start of the 2nd half, Die Haghe was not yet sharp and Tweemaal Zes immediately took advantage of this by leveling the score. After that, the Canaries picked it up again with 3 scores in a row, after which they never gave away the lead. The much-scoring gentleman was restrained, eventually substituted and with 12 minutes left on the clock at 16-13, it was a matter of waiting for the final “death blow”. Unfortunately, both teams couldn’t really convince anymore. The game rippled to the end with one more goal scored on both sides and the final score was set at 17-14.

Stand

KVS won convincingly and is on its way to the title. After a week of rest due to Whitsun weekend, Die Haghe can then secure the 2nd place at De Antilopen. Below that it is no longer important. Only the bottom place is still important, but then Twice Six has to win everything.
