Daley Sinkgraven will leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer. He has been told that the club will not renew his expiring contract. He made the switch from Ajax in the summer of 2019, which received five million euros for buying out his contract.
Sinkgraven’s adventure in Leverkusen yielded varying degrees of success. The left leg came to a total of 78 games for the club. He was in the base 51 times of those duels. He didn’t get off the bench 61 times. In his 78 appearances for the club, the left foot was good for six assists. However, the born Assenaar did not score. Under trainer Xabi Alonso, Sinkgraven came to twelve games in the Bundesliga this season. He started in four of those games. Alonso usually uses a 3-4-1-2 formation, in which the wingers in midfield play a crucial role. Sinkgraven knows, however, that compatriot Mitchel Bakker is the first choice on the left.
Sinkgraven joined the sc Heerenveen youth academy in 2006 and made the move to the first in 2013. As an attacking midfielder, the technician made such a big impression that Ajax came knocking at the door during the winter break of the 2015/16 season. The team from Amsterdam took over Sinkgraven for seven million euros, a large amount for Ajax at the time. Sinkgraven came into action 86 times for the capitals and was good for a single goal and eleven assists.
