Car spontaneously catches fire in Valthermond

Valthermond – The fire brigade of Tweede Exloërmond was alerted to a car fire on the Zuiderdiep on Monday evening around 7:50 pm. On arrival there was a Volkswagen Beetle on fire.

The fire brigade was quickly on the scene and could prevent worse. The fire was fought by means of a jet of high pressure and low pressure. The old Beetle sustained considerable damage due to the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown. The owner salvaged the car himself.
