Groningen – Around 7:30 PM on Friday evening there was an attempted robbery at supermarket Poiesz on JG Pinksterstraat in Veendam. An employee was threatened with a knife. At least two suspects fled. Police arrested two people in the area shortly afterwards.
Police are investigating the attempted robbery and threat. At the moment, it appears that no loot has been made. The two arrested suspects are being questioned about their role in the robbery. We cannot rule out the possibility that more people may have been involved.
