Ajax knows who should succeed Saïd Ouaali as Head of Youth Training after this season: Casimiro Westerveld, the current Head of Youth Scouting. That reports Ajax Showtime Monday morning.
‘Casimiro Westerveld must become Ouaali’s successor at Ajax’
Ouaali recently confirmed that he will leave Amsterdam after eleven years. Westerveld has been with the club since 2006 and has since held the positions of technical coordinator, analyst and now Head of Youth Scouting (since 2018). From 2012 to 2015, he also held a role as a technical advisor at Almere City.
Ajax Showtime writes about Westerveld: “He directs youth scouts and talks with talents from other clubs that Ajax would like to take over. The Head of Youth Scouting fulfills his role to the great satisfaction of the policymakers, but after the imminent departure of Ouaali, Ajax also sees a greater role for Westerveld within the football organization.”
Robin Veldman
In addition to Westerveld, Ajax also wants to involve Robin Veldman in educating the youth. He is still assistant coach at RSC Anderlecht and has already spoken to a delegation in the Johan Cruijff Arena, where he is to become a ‘link between the highest youth teams and the superstructure’.
